Rock the Congress: Uniting Progressives to Win in 2018
Rock the Congress: San Francisco & Peninsula is a one-day conference that will provide leading Bay Area activists with the training and skills they need to build and cultivate a strong, lasting coalition of Progressive organizations dedicated to winning elections and regain Democratic control in state and Congressional races.
With the tenets of our Constitution in crisis, it is even more urgent that we regain power in Congress so that we can more effectively defeat Trump and his Republican enablers. By building coalitions between progressive groups, growing political capital through these coalitions to ensure longevity, and providing leaders with tools they can bring back to their communities, we can — and we will — take win elections to achieve our vision of a more progressive America.
WHERE: Balboa High School
The day-long conference has four main components:
- Plenary speakers State Controller Betty Yee, Dan Pfeiffer co-host of Pod Save America, and U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15).
- Small breakout training sessions taught by leading activists on topics such as direct action, technology, and messaging
- Structured time for groups and activists to work collaboratively to create an operational, inter-organizational plan for the 2018 midterm elections
- Networking with other Bay Area organizers
